I'm late, as this aired last week, but it's so freaking awesome that I've got to blog about it.
Because this is my first time talking about it, let me give you some background:
Heartcatch Precure is a magical girls show about a shy girl, a hyper girl, a girl that looks like a boy, and a emo ex-heroine who turns into a seriously badass fighter. Evil people from another dimension want to steal flowers and make monsters rampage so that teh world will become a desert. The motifs include flowers and fashion and there's a buttload of stockfootage and...
Wait...where are you going?
Well, try this video on for size :
That's not even the best part of that fight.
Pretty Cure is unique in that it doesn't go soft on the combat. When I say "Magical Girl", I know some people automatically cringe or yell "Sailor Moon Rip-off!" For those of you that already like this genre, check out Heartcatch, or any of the other Pretty Cure series (there are 4 more after all, each unique of each other...)
Alright! Now to 34.

Speaking of which, what is Dark Precure? Why the heck does she spark?

Moonlight had always been a solo fighter, because she didn't want to endanger anyone else. But finally, she is back and this time she is not alone. She has...

I mean uh, Moonlight now has...the desire to protect everyone from the bottom of her heart. I think that's sweet.
Cologne!

Yuri may finally have accepted his death, but I haven't. I sure wish he was still alive. He's the coolest cute mascot there ever was.

Overall thoughts
Superb animation that only Umakoshi could do. Excellent fight scenes. Sad scenes. A pleasant feeling of renewal for Moonlight. Lack of stock footage and "the formula". It was perfect! The whole thing perfectly encompasses the sweet + badass combination that I enjoy from watching Pretty Cure. I have this love/not love relationship with Heartcatch compared to the other series, but this nearly renewed my faith in it. What could be next for Heartcatch Precure?
Episode 35: Preparing for the school festival. Recurring characters shall reoccur on the next Heartcatch Precure!
